Serving the Atlanta community since 1993, Dr. David Whiteman is a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon with ample experience in surgery of the breasts, face, and body. He has a special interest in breast reconstruction and is highly involved in supporting breast cancer awareness. Dr. Whiteman is dedicated to exceptional patient care and education and strives to provide educational information and the latest technology for his patients.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Whiteman completed his plastic surgery residency at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, followed by Fellowship training at Georgetown University in advanced techniques of cosmetic surgery and breast reconstruction. Today, he serves as Chief and Director of Surgical Services for the Gwinnett Medical Center located in Duluth, Georgia.

Dr. Whiteman is double board certified in plastic and reconstruction surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and also holds membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Since Dr. Whiteman is dedicated to providing patients with the utmost care and innovative surgical techniques, he offers advanced procedures such as implantless ethnic rhinoplasty surgery, state-of-the-art laser skin treatments, as well as specialized tummy tuck surgery techniques. He is also a featured contributor on RealSelf.com and Best Self Magazine, providing answers to surgical questions.

Serving in a national women’s and breast cancer organizations, Dr. Whiteman is the Medical Director of The Sport of Giving 501(c)(3), a non-profit organization that hosts grass roots athletic and non-athletic fundraising events, and founder of Life After the Fight, an interactive business directory for breast cancer survivors. Also, Dr. Whiteman created a “buddy system” for his breast reconstruction patients to find support and discuss their journeys to recovery.

In addition to his interest in breast reconstruction, Dr. Whiteman also has a special interest in helping his patients maintain healthy lifestyles, especially for post weight loss patients. Because of his passion for health and wellness, he has devoted a section of his website to health and wellness. He also offers lifestyle and weight management coaching sessions for his patients.
