In 2013 “The Iliss Marie Project” along with the Brain Tumor Foundation has begun a partnership with WEtv in memory of Iliss Marie, the daughter of Saving Our Daughters founder Curtis Benjamin. Iliss, who was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor at the age of 10 and later lost her battle in 2011, wanted to inspire other young girls with this affliction. In Iliss’ memory, donations will be raised to assist other families from the Brain Tumor Foundation with young girls who are suffering from low self-esteem due to brain tumors. “The Iliss Marie Project” will collaborate with powerful women and men philanthropists across the country to aid in funding this effort.
Along with some of the most popular philanthropic women in the business who will be teaming up with “The Iliss Marie Project” initiative, we are proud to announce that Celebrity Hair Stylist, Ms. Kim Kimble will be lending her phenomenal talent & name within the entertainment industry to the project in memory of Iliss. One of Kim’s passions is giving back, and for a life-changing project such as this one, she has an opportunity to help young girls who have lost their hair from life-threatening and cancerous brain tumors.
The organization was brought to Kim’s attention via longtime friend and celebrity client, Shari Headley, who is one of the organization’s most faithful supporters in Los Angeles, and has worked with teen girls in the East Los Angeles Boys & Girls Clubs since 2012. Both Kim and Shari will be working together in 2013-2014 to help raise awareness for the “Iliss Marie Project” which will include some incredible experiences to help girls dealing with the challenges of battling cancer.
