You may recognize Ms. Grace Byers from the hit FOX show, Empire- as she plays Anika Calhoun, on the HOT series. Grace is also an influential author and now encouraging girls across the country with her New York Times, Best Selling Book, “I Am Enough”.
During the week of March 5th and throughout the weekend, of Women’s Month, Grace invited her Saving Our Cinderellas program to receive and discuss her book to hundreds of girls at the Barnes & Noble of Tribeca NY and the 57th Street Books in Chicago.
Both Thurgood Marshall Academy of Harlem and Willa Cather Elementary school of Chicago involved their Cinderellas that represented 1st -12th grade girls under the “My Celebrity Book Club” Initiative truly enjoyed seeing Grace and receiving her amazing book, as she read the book to the girls and their parents who also was in attendance, were truly thrilled!
Willa Cather teacher, Fatima Kola stated, “Grace’s Little Cinderella’s enjoyed the smiles, handshakes, and the live read-aloud of I Am Enough by Grace. She truly inspired the young Cinderella’s to shoot for the stars with the powerful message embedded in her book, I Am Enough”.
About Grace Byers and I Am Enough
Grace Byers is an actor and activist who stars in Fox’s hit series Empire. As a multiracial young girl and a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), Grace was bullied throughout her childhood. This book was born out of her desire to empower young girls against the effects of bullying.
In her spare time, she volunteers with the nonprofit anti-bullying organization Saving Our Daughters. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Trai Byers. I Am Enough is her first book.
