In 2018, many young actors are preparing for their film and television roles in Hollywood, but some are also taking time to give back to empower girls to become influential young ladies.

This is what actress Storm Reid did on Tuesday May 15th  for the East La Rising Cinderellas program.

Storm is best known for her role of “Emily” in the Oscar Award Winning feature, 12 YEARS A SLAVE, and Disney’s film, “A Wrinkle In Time”, as she played Meg Murry, opposite Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling.

The East La Rising Cinderella program was super excited on having Storm make her 2018 “Celebrity Godparent” mentor visit within their curriculum, to help deliver the programs messaging on using art to heal to deter bullying.

Storm shared her personal experience on how to deal with bullying as well as participating in a fun acting activity called “Freeze”; which helped the girls’ explore the physical world and how it relates to acting. It also stretched their imagination.

Storm also surprised her Cinderellas with her B Amazing inspirational shirts and journals which each girl received. Wow!!
