Led by Ron Clark Academy counselor Elektra Thompson, a select group of young ladies were fortunate to participate in the Food Network’s Chef Tregaye & Saving Our Daughters, Jr. Chef Culinary Camp for the second summer in a row. Each possessing a passion to gain more culinary skills and nutritional knowledge, students dedicated themselves to retaining best practices and then applying the methods to real-life meal preparation.
After receiving professional insight from Chef Tregaye, fellow Ron Clark Academy student and Master Chef Junior season 5 winner, Just Chef Jasmine Stewart, and Chef Tregaye’s sous, Chef Lauren Strong, students recently completed the camp by delivering a 12-minute meal prep demonstration to 40 cancer patients, survivors, nutritionists, and Doctors at Piedmont Health.
