As the Willa Cather Cinderallas of Chicago, has had a rich tradition, of many incredible actresses that have empowered and inspired the girls through television and film, such as co-founder, Keke Palmer, Empire’s and program ambassador, Grace Byers and Director/ Executive Producer, Sanaa Hamri.

Saving Our Daughters’ was so excited to announce and welcome, Showtime’s THE CHI, Tiffany Boone, as one of its new inspirational “Celebrity Godparent” mentors, as she plays the role of Jerrika, on the new hit series.

On Wednesday September 19th and during Tiffany’s busy filming schedule, she took some time for a very special visit to Willa Cather Elementary and spoke to lead teacher & mentor Jacki Hydock’s Cinderellas art class on some of the issues the girls were dealing with concerning bullying and self-esteem within their own peer relationships at school.

Tiffany encouraged both the little and big Cinderellas to not give up on something that they are passionate about; and mentioned how she gave up on acting for about a year and when she came back to it, she realized that acting was what she was supposed to do in life.

Tiffany added, “Even when you hear a lot of No’s and if it’s something that you really love, you have to keep going at it. The No’s do not determine your future!”

The girls were so excited to hear more about Tiffany’s amazing acting career on The Chi and of course they learned to always believe the impossible.

“In a world that doesn’t always acknowledge or appreciate the majesty of little girls of color, the performing arts gives them permission to be whomever and whatever they desire. Learning through the arts that there are no limits to what they can achieve, little girls of color can face adversity with confidence and resilience.”~ Tiffany Boone
