On Saturday October 5th,  Actress Storm Reid was in Atlanta for the weekend for a collaborative event between Sublime Doughnuts and her B-Amazing initiative; which aims to empower young people by helping them discover and nurture their inner light through the encouragement of positive declarations of self and compassion for others.

Storm is best known for her amazing role in Disney’s “A Wrinkle In Time”, playing Meg Murry, opposite Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling“Emily” and in the Oscar Award Winning feature, 12 YEARS A SLAVE.

Storm is a longtime supporter and Celebrity Godparent mentor within the Saving Our Cinderellas Program, co-founded by Keke Palmer.

On that Saturday, Storm and her mom, Ms. Robyn invited some of her Atlanta Cinderellas representing Ron Clark Academy and other schools with their mothers to help Storm launch her limited-edition Sublime doughnut (Iced Buttered Pecan).  The Cinderellas and their moms were thrilled when Saving Our Daughter sponsored their Storm Reid Sublime donuts, while enjoying bonding time with Storm and learning the importance of giving back. Each girl was able to talk with Storm and of course take pictures.  Storm was so gracious to everyone that came to support this great cause.

“This Mother Daughter fun-day allowed our participants to laugh, hear encouraging words from Ms. Robyn about being in the business, the importance of giving back and the wonderful programs that Hands on Atlanta are providing for our communities. Then to eat delicious donuts was literally the icing on the cake!”~Debbie Benjamin Co-Founder, Saving Our Daughters

Also, on Sunday, October 6th, Ms. Robyn and Storm hosted a Pick My Brain workshop for parents interested in getting their children started in the TV/Film industry but aren’t sure where to start.

A portion of the funds raised from both events was donated to Hands On Atlanta’s Discover and Meals4Kids programs.
